Jesus says assassinations are OK!

Posted by Jesus on December 5, 2008

There are some bad people in the world. Some of them are business or world leaders, despots, professional athletes, or high-ranking officials. These people make trouble wherever they find themselves, doing the work of Satan and destroying all that God finds good. A long-standing misunderstanding of the Bible means that Christians have been lax to destroy these individuals, but today I’d like to clear that up. As far as Heaven is concerned, there is no legal cause or reason that assassinations cannot be carried out in God’s name.

Modern Biblical scholars agree. Pastor Rick Warren, for example, was on Sean Hannity’s show not long ago discussing this very topic. Rick is a guy who’s written book after book about living a Christian life, represents God in all things, and is the head of an unusually pious church (except for the few gay congregants). When Rick says God condones the organized murder of people not aligned with the goals and aspirations of your country people should listen. Here’s the exchange between these two religious and political experts.

From the article:

Sean Hannity: The United States needs to “take out” Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Rick Warren: I agree!
Sean Hannity: “Am I advocating something dark, evil or something righteous?”
Rick Warren: “Well, actually, the Bible says that evil cannot be negotiated with. It has to just be stopped…. In fact, that is the legitimate role of government. The Bible says that God puts government on earth to punish evildoers. Not good-doers. Evildoers.”

There it is. It’s all right there, everything you need to know. In case you need Biblical proof, which I’m sure you do, here’s the appropriate passage (and the one from which Rick Warren was drawing).

From the Bible:

For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. -Romans 13:3-4

Do you see that? I love the way this verse flows. Be afraid, for he beareth not the sword in vain. Man, that’s some serious Biblical stuff right there. Anytime the Bible tells you to “be afraid” you’d best listen. And I’m talking to you, Mahmoud. Sean Hannity and Rick Warren think you should be assassinated, and I agree. Heaven agrees. Be afraid.

And let me just say how much I love Rick Warren. He’s a purpose-driven warmonger for God if ever there was one. When Dad decided to need Jerry Falwell more there was a lot of concern up here in Heaven about who might replace him as a strong voice in paraspiritual military matters. It looks like Rick is filling those shoes well, which is good. There just might be a Jackpot in his future.
