"If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to death." -Leviticus 20:9

What would the Pope do?

Posted by Jesus on April 9, 2007

Sometimes it takes a good Pope to point out the way things work. In an article published earlier today, the Pope is called out for not assisting a bunch of women who have been sexually abused for years. In an affront to all that is Christian, the article takes aim at the Pope and the Catholic establishment for not jumping right in the middle of this matter and fixing it as soon as it came to light. Like that’s their job, you know, to fix everything that is wrong on the planet. Sheesh.

From the article:

Confronted by their testimony, the church authorities first transferred the priest to another parish, and then out of the diocese. But he remains a priest, and has received only token punishment. In the United States, failure to take firm action against abusive priests left the Church in Boston with a legacy of bitter mistrust and legal bills totaling more than $150m (76m). In Italy, however, it would appear that the lessons have not been learnt.

Let me ask you all something. When a person such as a priest in the church is called out for something like this, what do you think should be the first course of action? Fire the priest? Question the children? Indict the whole system? None of these are correct, of course. The proper immediate response is to ask yourself what would Jesus do?

Now I don’t have an abundance of love for the Catholic organization, what with their half-Christian/half-pagan pseudo-religious babble, but I do have to admit that at the top of their ranks they do follow the rules pretty well. When something like this happens the church leaders usually pray to me, then I usually confer with Dad. When a decision is made it is handed down and carried out by the people at the top of the Catholic organization. What this means is that anyone taking exception to the decisions made by the Pope is also taking exception to decisions made by me and Dad. It was in fact us who suggested the priest be moved, and all they did was follow orders.

I’ve said it before here – nothing happens without our allowing it to happen. I don’t usually like to get into specifics, but even things that might sound repulsive are often our decisions. Just because you find it hard to believe that we would allow these women to get sexually abused doesn’t mean that we didn’t allow it. In this particular case one of the women would have turned out to be a sex therapists, one would have become homosexual, and one would have eventually wanted to become Pope herself and thus started a big gender issue. This priest who is under such a vehement assault from so many was working on our behalf when he corrected those potential courses in the lives of these women. I’m happy to say that all of them are now more devout than they would have been if this priest had not molested them.

You see, Dad works in mysterious ways. I often wonder how many of you down there say this, and sometimes even believe it, but when it’s applied to your own lives or played out in your media turn your back on the notion that such a thing could simply be one of those same mysterious ways. When you’re up you thank Dad, and when you’re down you want to find someone to blame. When you hear fantastic news you praise Dad for allowing it, and when you hear something like this you attack the Pope for not getting involved. Why is it that most of you “Christians” can’t comprehend the simple fact that everything, as in all that is good and all that is bad, was originally planned and carried out in one massive week of creation. Your paths, your destinies, your successes and failures even, are all preordained. This sexual abuse at a church? God’s will. A school bus getting blown up by a suicide bomber? All part of Dad’s plan. A guy walking into a school and shooting a bunch of engineering students next week? Dad again. The nasty little thing you had last night with the secretary from the fifth floor? Yeah, He knew that was coming too, because He planned it. The bumps you’ll start seeing sometime Sunday? Set in motion thousands of years ago. Your wife finding out? Her leaving you? Your suicide? Sorry Thomas, all of those were planned long before you and that secretary even met. That’s just how these things work.

So leave the Pope alone, you guys. He’s only doing what he’s told, like any good Christian should. Of course it doesn’t surprise me that so very few of you get that, what with your overall failure to adhere to the law of God in its purest form. We talk to most of you each and every day, telling you what you should and shouldn’t do, and for the most part we’re patently ignored. If more of you listened you might not get so worked up about all of this priest sex and terrorism and such. Heck, if more of you listened you’d likely all get behind the work Dad is doing to correct what might be tragedies if these women or children were to actually grow up unmolested.
