Jesus loves a good hockey game

Man, if anyone skipped Wednesday services to watch the Stanley Cup game tonight consider yourself forgiven. That was one heck of a display in each and every way. The goalies were spot-on, the hits were brutal, and the thanking of me was spectacular following the goal! If I’m missing again over the next week or so part of the reason will be the playoffs.

The Ducks played really hard hockey tonight, which is what they’re going to have to do to win the Cup from here. Ottowa is going to score all night long on you if you let them get free and find passing lanes, even if you do have a guy named Giguere bent over between the pipes. I’ve said it before, he’s the classic playoff goalie - his game just elevates with each period.

For Ottowa home ice is going to mean a lot. The got outcoached in Anaheim, but with home ice they can control the matchups and try to retake some momentum. They have to be willing to get rough on home ice, get rid of their weak forecheck, and pull people out of the game when they’re not delivering. Yeah, Spezza, you.

It’s a heck of a series so far though. Even though the Ducks hold a two game lead I still wouldn’t be comfortable declaring a favorite. It could go any number of ways, and only Dad knows exactly what the end result will be. Yeah, sometimes even I get tired of saying that.
