Four cheerleaders God needed more

Posted by Jesus on June 28, 2007

Every once in a while Dad and I sit down and make decisions about who we need. While it’s usually older and more intelligent workers to run bits and pieces of Heaven’s increasingly complex systems, sometimes we bring people up to fill more, um, niche roles.? Such is the case in the tragic deaths of five young women in a fiery head-on collision with a big rig in New York. God needed cheerleaders more.

From the article:

Fairport High School Principal David Paddock said four of the women were members of the cheerleading squad — Bailey Goodman, Hannah Congdon, Meredith McClure and Sara Monnat — and he identified the fifth as Katie Shirley. All five graduated Thursday.

“It is with overwhelming sadness that I inform all of you that five of our children, all of whom just graduated from FHS last Thursday evening, lost their lives earlier tonight in a car accident,” Paddock wrote in an e-mail sent to parents early Wednesday.

I know it’s really terrible, and I agree that the loss of five pretty white girls is never any fun for anyone, but everyone can rest assured that four of these ladies now have it good. Really good. None of them were really devout enough to get into Heaven on their own, but just two weeks ago Dad decided that He needed a few new faces on the cheerleading squad at the University of Heaven. We’ve just been looking for a good opportunity to fill the order.

More from the article:

“Our hearts just explode and it just makes the grieving so hard because we build such a community for youth,” said Debra Tandoi, a town official who works with young people in the schools. “We love them all.”

Hey Debra, the next time you guys get out there to build a community for your youth, why not put a little more time into ensuring that the curriculum and activities are such that any youth unfortunate enough to die has a chance to get to Heaven? I don’t mean to rant about this here and take away from the tragedy which befell these five girls, but the community you build for your youth is the real reason you should be grieving. The goal of this site is to make the inner workings of Heaven available to all of you so that you can lead more Christ-like lives. It’s only fair that you know where you’re failing. If you really do love them all, give me a call later. I’ve got some awesome ideas for getting real faith back into your schools.
